Its going to be titled "faces of Nature" and basically its about me drawing faces of those who inspire or spark and interest in me. I have a few almost complete so far and a few more yet to be started.

I'll be posting them up very very soon, haven't taken pictures of them yet, nor have I had the time, my life consists of Coffee and petrol stations and car fights with Aoife hahahaha, some spilt coffee and laughter. oh and about 10 fecking meetings a day and a very very very red right hand side face- from being on the Phone too much and too long.....Radiation will be the first to hit me bad(o:

I'm working on a documentary at the minute on the irish Music Scene and its getting near to Filming so I am really looking forward to that. great team too. fiona greg derek and aoife plus the rest, happy dayz, tuff days ahead but all worth it.

My new music is sounding really good, If I stepped outa the siteeeation long enough to listen back to the tracks I'm really liking them and distancing myself from them completely and still liking the, so that's all good. some songs I wouldn't even recognise it was me, so im delighted.

Ill be playing a very very special Xmas gig in The Electric avenue on the 16th of Dec in Waterford , doing all Xmas tunes, so if you fancy a night with me and musos like Jaded Sun, Christine Deady, primrose and Paul Hourican, get your arses down to Waterford, its for charity and will be broad-casted live on the Radio, ah looking forward to Xmas (o: me albums ony 5 dollars at cdbaby.com/lindacoogan all over Xmas so there's a bargain!!!

Ill leave you with some picys, hope ya likey, Been studying the body and catching up on some sleep over the weekend, these are oldish sketches, ill post newbies next week promise! and its great to hear form you all, peace out,

A Good kick up the arse

Heya Looong time no chat guys and gals,

life has been pretty hectic lately, and I won't lie, I was thinking if hanging up my socks ( I'm sure i got that saying wrong) and just focusing on the industry side of music. but alas i caught a glimpse of my guitar on the after thought......

At times it may feel like we are climbing and climbing to get to a place and when we are there its like, Oh, so that's what the view is like. and the thing is you somehow always knew what the landscape entailed. and its fabulous, thee most fabulous looking sight you have ever seen, the feeling of elation comes and its like oh, then you fall flat on your arse, and it fecking hurts to walk.

if that doesn't make sense, sorry.
this year has been rocky.

I was thinking of just writing and collaborating with other artists instead of pushing my own music, then some one reminded me that I was only in this a year, since last June, so I suppose, I was getting impatient.

Fact is I didn't even know where I want to be musically, for some while. i just really knew that i wanted to just to play and enjoy it.

i played alongside Luan Parle, there last week at the Oxfam gig in the Sugar Club, and you know what she gave me the kick up the arse I needed, musically. She is a prime example of a real musician, not the bullshitters and the me feiners and the look at me I'm great shite that's out there. she gets up in the morning, would play anywhere, and would do anything to reach a fan, and that's whats its all about.

I recorded an album this year, put allot of effort into it, and it went pear-shaped as the company i was dealing with went pear shaped and turned out to be a loada bollox and I got so disheartened in the whole thing and focused all my energies on the business side of things, to ensure that it wouldn't happen again. I lost the whole fucking album, but you know what, so did alotta other artists out there in different but similar circumstances..... So its high time i ventured back into the studio and recorded again.instead of feeling the pang of self pity as there is nowt worse.. next week I'm going into record some demos and work form there, they are brand spanking new songs and I hope you will like them.

I haven't had the chance to communicate here for ages, months now anyhow, and I just wanted to say how massive myspace is becoming, but still its nice to know there are still those familiar faces that message me and believe in the music, and not just me, but are loyal to the music, fair fucking play.

people who inspire me lately are some close friends who against alotta odds, find themselves where exactly they want to be and keep fighting the fight. your all the kick up the arse a person needs to get back on track
much love and respect to:

Luan Parle- for the music and good spirit

Aoife O Sullivan, - Your pics are amazing and your music, wow, keep it up gurl. very proud. to think- it all came from that walk home form school when we were 15, remember ?? we promised never to have the 9 to 5 day job!! haha

Roddie- You may not have got it this year but I'm going to start a campaign for next year-promise!! and you'll kick arse(o:)

Robin- Congrats on your baby Lyla, shes gorgeous, and now you can make some new music in a newer light on life (o: great days ahead my dear x love to Maggie too.

Mike- go on ya mad baza, your a fecking legend and mentor on all things musical (o;

Niall O Loughlin, for being sucha gem and an inspiration

and of course Aoife " music business guru to the masses and of course me, how you put up with it all is most impressive (o: album no. 2 your on backing vox ok (o: hahahahahhaha yeahhhh!

ok

rant over
(guess whose pms??)
love lotsa lotsa love

Ive been in the download charts in the top 5 position for over 2 months, which I am delighted about. groovy, and I got a check in the post last week form an online store cdbaby, so I'm delighted (o: money money money, is a good thing is not to be abused (o;

oh oh oh you wont believe the star studded line up we have in store for the guest list on the Irish Music Scene Documentary, its unreal, but I ain't saying nowt, oh and remember guys get your bios and mp3s in before the 14Th of Sept or you wont get a chance to be in!!

One of the highlight of this year has to have been lucky enough to grace the stage with fellow Musician Robin James Hurt, hes so fecking brilliant really guys check the man out. Every time I listen to the guy he just amazes me more and hes so levelled. (bit of a chatter box ) but we will forgive him (o: hahaha one can't really get tired of the accent. and thanks to Robin for coming in and recording and for inspiring me and altering the Coogan sound for the better.. I'll be hauling his ass out with me when I can, but the Daddy to be will be quite busy in a while, and very best wished to you my dear.

Along with the EP my album "this is my manna" will be released in March 2008.

A little inspiration goes a long way

A little inspiration goes a long way, so it does. I went out to the big bad world of caricature drawing last week when Niall took me out working with him. And i have to say to be able to watch the master in progress and see how hes works was a great privillage. Im new to this game and it was the rightest (made up my own word there) start a gal could've asked for.

Needless to say I have been curled up over the canvas since last week trying to perfect the whole thing. Im stubborn and impatient. but I wont stop trying untill I have it, I think it finally clicked last night. Ill upload the caricatures later I have to dash off to a meeting, but I'll leave you with some of regina & pete i was doing last month...catch ya later

Its all good mind you all good.

Oh and did i mention we are filming a documentary on the Irish music scene too (o: just go to www.myspace.com/goodseedrecords to find out more info if your interested in getting involved. on the page you'll see various pieces of unfinished art and finished art . I hope you like.

gobbildy goop

well lads, I recorded about 15 songs in the space of 6 months, but it wasn't as long as that sounds of studio time, more or less sporadically once a week, or 3 times a month for 6 months. I got to learn where I am at as an artist and I now have a really good idea as to where I stand and what I want on the 2nd album , I am going to go into recording it within the next month and it'll be fabulous. its a happy soul reviving album, and i cant wait to play with it, i have a good few gigs comming up and im really lookong forward to them. if you are free any of the nights sure drop in! i'll also be playing around the west part of ireland galway in particualr with paul hourican hes a lovely talented guy and im looking forward to that too.

aw theres loads on at the moment, i have setup a label also myself and aoife, for artists and promoters to take charge and control of their music/acts and try it for themselves if anyone is interested in finding out moe go to good seed records . ok im being called at from every angle of the house to go off now, playing at he indie festival in carrick on shanon this weekend, realy lookin forward to it.
